Consequences

First Impressions: Welcome to my stop on the #LieWithMe blog tour. Thank you to Veronique at Mulholland Books for extending the blog tour so I can be included, I am very grateful for that. Lie With Me has been turning heads for months now. The first few pages of the proof I received are packed with great feedback and praise for the book so I was eager to get involved and see for myself. I am happy to report that the hype is well deserved, Lie With Me is a gripping, dramatic and gut twisting novel that drags you into a story of bad decisions, manipulation and dangerous consequences. Sabine Durrant is a well published author, a master of building tension and a compelling story teller.

First Impressions: Science fiction is one of the main reasons that I got into book blogging and it seems that I barely get a chance to read any at the moment so it was nice to dive back in. Slow Bullets is a novella by SF legend Alastair Reynolds. There is so much plot and definition packed into this small 182 page space survival adventure. Thank you to Stevie at Gollancz for sending me a review copy, it is always much appreciated. First Impressions: There has been so much buzz around this book and I was eager to dive into the hype to give my opinion on this intense debut by Ali Land. Good Me Bad Me is so gripping that I found myself picking it up as soon as I got a free minute! (Even after getting home from a 15 hour shift :D). Ali Land is going to go far. Good Me Bad Me deserves the attention it is getting, there are some many great (and horrifying) elements to appreciate (and fear). Pick it up and thank me later!

The Good Immigrant - (Edited by) Nikesh Shukla

Sent to me by the Publisher in exchange for an honest review

Release Date: 22/09/16

Publisher: Unbound

ISBN: 978-1783522958

Format: Hardback, 237pp

Genre: Non-Fiction

Rating: 5/5

Summed up in a word:
Perspective

First Impressions: Unbound are such a positive and encouraging publisher. Each of the projects they publish are funded by book lovers; those who want authors to succeed. The Good Immigrant was chosen by us, funded by us (and even J.K Rowling). 21 influential BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) individuals are here to share their thoughts and experiences of being viewed as an immigrant in the UK. Actors, journalists, comedians, teachers and writers tell us about what it takes to gain approval in this country; how racism has changed over the years; dealing with dual nationality and their frustrations of how they are viewed on a daily basis. The Good Immigrant is thought-provoking, upsetting, empowering and exists to set the record straight.

Author Interview - Susanna Beard

Welcome to another Always Trust In Books Author Interview! I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to do a Q&A with Susanna Beard. Susanna's latest release Dare To Remember (Published via Legend Press) is an outstanding psychological drama focusing on grief, guilt and trauma.

I am doing this Q&A as part of the Dare To Remember Blog Tour so please make sure that you check out the other posts available this week (there will be links at the bottom of the page). I will share Susanna's bio and book synopsis below and then straight onto the questions.
